Molasses Glazed Carrots recipe
I never thought that something as simple as glazed carrots could taste so good! For Thanksgiving these are really great as an alternative option or to replace sweet potatoes. Serves 4.
Ingredients:
- 4 large carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch rounds
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chicken stock, or more as needed
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- pinch cloves
Directions:
Combine the carrots, butter, and 1/2 cup chicken stock in a medium saute pan. Cook over medium heat and let the stock reduce while the carrots cook.
If the pan gets dry add more stock. Continue to do this until the carrots are almost tender, about 6 minutes.
Add the molasses and clove and cook until the sauce is thick and syrupy.
Add salt to taste. Serve hot.
